The Yubileynoye deposit is the only large gold ore deposit in Mugalzhar. It belongs to the gold-sulfide-quartz formation and is represented by secondary quartzites and quartz-stockwork zones with gold-sulfide mineralization. Spatially and paragenetically, mineralization is associated with a plagiogranite-porphyry stock breaking through the main volcanics of the Mugalzhar formation.
The Yubileynoye deposit was developed both by open-pit and underground methods. Open-pit mining began in 1971 and reached a depth of 140 m below the original surface. After 2001, the transition from open-pit to underground mining began.
